The Goodguys 9th Great Northwest Nationals takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Spokane, Washington. The event will feature thousands of rods, customs, muscle cars and street machines through 1972. Special awards presented at the show are the 2010 Muscle Car of the Year Finalist, 2010 Custom Rod of the Year Finalist, Goodguys Builder’s Choice Awards and Gazette Pick. Other activities include vendor and manufacturer exhibits, a swap meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral, the Goodgals Gallery, and a model and pedal car show. The Granite State Nationals takes places Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. The three-day event will feature hundreds of muscle cars, classic cars and rods. The show will also include a Hot Rod Memory Lane area featuring old club jackets, photographs, plaques, trophies, and hot rod and drag racing memorabilia. Lowrey’s Auto Restoration will host an open house on Friday. There will be an “American Graffiti” cast reunion with appearances by Paul LeMat and Candy Clark throughout the weekend, and the movie coupe will be on display. The 30th Anniversary of the Mopar Nationals takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The event will include car shows with judging, special vehicle displays, a swap meet, exhibition runs, burn-out contests, a memorabilia auction, seminars, a cruise night and a performance by Gary Lewis & The Playboys. The second annual Mecum Monterey Auction takes place Friday and Saturday in Monterey, California. Up for bid will be hundreds of automobiles, vintage boats and artwork. KICKER Performance Audio is hosting the Hometown 2010 Summer Bash Car and Truck Show Saturday and Sunday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The two-day event is centered on top-of-the-line cars competing for a chance to win prizes. The bash will include food, beverages, activities and entertainment, the car and truck show. Cars and Coffee Detroit takes place Saturday morning at the MotorCity Casino. Cars and Coffee is a gathering of auto enthusiasts where drivers will congregate to kick tires and have a cup of coffee. The free event is open to classics, exotics, concept cars, hot rods, motorcycles and motorsports vehicles. Surf Ohio’s Festiki 2010 takes place Saturday in Dayton, Ohio. Surf Ohio Festiki is a full-day, outdoor lifestyle event that blends a celebration of surf, tiki and retro culture together with music, art, and other beach-themed activities. The event will also feature a show and shine sponsored by AAA Miami Valley. There’s free entry for all pre-1970 cars, trucks, motorcycles and scooters. There also will be drawings for free AAA Premier Memberships all day, along with trophies and goodie bags, plus dash plaques for the first 100 cars. River Ruckus takes place Saturday in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The event will include a classic car parade that will move through Bradford to Washington St., where the cars are exhibited all day long amidst street performers and refreshment stands. Attendees will pick out their favorite car for the “People’s Choice” contest. The event will also include a performance stage and exhibit area with concerts, food, activities for kids, and shops and galleries. George Cross & Sons presents The Pomona Swap Meet and Car Show Sunday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pomona, California. The event will feature thousands of vehicles for show and/or sale and thousands of auto parts and related items. There will also be concession stands located throughout the event selling a wide variety of food and beverages. General admission is $8, with children 12 and under admitted free. Any year Corvette, any year Porsche, pre-1975 Volkswagens, pre-1957 street rods and pre-1975 collector cars will be admitted for $25. Any 1931-or-older stock motorcar will be admitted for free.
