As the temperatures are heating up, enthusiasts around the country are looking for every opportunity to show off their cool rides. The 13th Goodguys PPG Nationals will be held Friday through Sunday at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio. The indoor and outdoor show is one of the largest Goodguys events and is open to rods, customs, muscle cars and truck through 1972. Over 7,000 vehicles are expected. Event highlights include the Friday Nite Drags, which, in addition to all the exhibition action and match races, will feature five classes of competition including hot rod, street machine and competition classes. Over 400 vendors are expected to be exhibiting at the event, which will also include a poker run, a large swap meet, hot rod seminars, nostalgia stage shows, model and pedal car display and more. Roy Brizio will be on-hand to select the winners of the event’s Builders Choice awards. In addition, the 2010 Goodguys Street Machine and Street Rod of the Year will be crowned at the event. The All-Chrysler Nationals will be held Friday-Sunday in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This weekend-long event crosses all eras of the Chrysler from classic to muscle and everything in between. Event highlights include seminars, autograph sessions, art displays, kid’s activities, a burn-out contest, awards presentations, dyno testing and more. Drag racing will take place on Friday evening at the 1/8 mile NHRA-sanctioned Quarter Aces Drag-O-Way. Lincoln Land Community College’s 7th Annual MotorSports Show takes place Friday and Saturday at the main LLCC campus in Springfield, Illinois. Friday is the free Cruise-In to the Park-N-Peek from 4-10 p.m. The Rambling Blues Band will be playing during the cruise from 7-9 p.m. The judged show takes place Saturday from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with judging in over 40 classes and three awards presented per class, plus an award for the Best of Series. Hot San Jose Nights takes place at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, California, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday includes a cruise from the fairgrounds to the Capitol 6 Drive-In where the movie “American Graffiti” will be shown at dusk. “American Graffiti” actress Candy Clark will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs. Activities Saturday and Sunday include a show-and-shine, swap meet, pancake breakfast, memorabilia auction, live music, carnival, awards presentation and a Ronald McDonald House at Stanford charity casino. The Blue Moon Kruizers classic car club is hosting its 4th Annual Wheels for Meals Car Show & Chick-fil-A “Chick-A-Palooza” Saturday in Howell, New Jersey. There is a $10 minimum registration fee and all proceeds will be donated to the Howell Food Pantry. The show is open to cars through 1990 and special interest vehicles from 1991-2010.
