Speedway Motors & Museum of American Speed Host Automotive Museum Conference

Speedway Motors and the Museum of American Speed hosted more than 60 members of the National Association of Automobile Museums for the 2013 NAAM Annual Conference, March 19-22 in Lincoln, Neb.

The conference brought representatives from more than 35 museums across the country to further NAAM’s mission to elevate professionalism in the automobile museum field and create recognition for its members, according to a press release from Speedway Motors.

In addition to giving attendees the opportunity to tour the Museum of American Speed, the conference included meetings and workshops on a variety of topics such as creating strategic plans and digital archiving.

Other highlights of 2013 NAAM Annual Conference included the attendance of Museum of American Speed founder “Speedy” Bill Smith, who welcomed guests to the museum, and a keynote address from journalist, historian and racing enthusiast Gordon Eliot White.
