Jason Jackson and Off Road International are working on turning an old pickup into a modern Class 8 Desert Racer to take to racing events and shows.

Off Road International built the chassis using a 1978 Dodge truck cab and frame, and is powering it with a Shelby Dodge 360 V-8 and manual four-speed transmission with overdrive.

The project features Off Road International’s 14-bolt rear axle with four-link and spring arms; independent front suspension, control arms and uprights; 55-gallon fuel cell; bodywork and custom off-road seats. It rolls on 37-inch BFGoodrich Baja TA tires and features PIAA lights with an Off Road International adaptive lighting system, OPTIMA Batteries and Donerre shocks.
