Omix-ADA hosted hundreds of Jeep enthusiasts at its Suwanee, Georgia headquarters on June 3. The second annual Jeep Heritage Expo built upon the success of last year’s event with hundreds of custom Jeeps in attendance. A few shops were on-hand as well to mingle with Jeep owners.
“It’s great that we can get out here and get in front if more customers, support Omix and Rugged Ridge, as well as our business at the same time. We get to catch up with old customers too,” Richard Kherlopian, owner of Athens, Georgia-based Oconee Off-Road, told THE SHOP. “We’re seeing decent foot traffic. We don't sell a lot from these events, but usually a few weeks later, we start to hear from people who say they saw us at the Omix Expo.”
Oconee Off-Road has been selling Jeep and 4x4 accessories and service for more than 15 years.
For Liberated 4x4, a Cumming, Georgia-based 4x4 shop, the Jeep Heritage Expo was increasingly valuable.
“We’ve been open for three months now,” said Robbie Warren, sales manager for the shop. “We brought a few Jeeps out here and are just excited to meet some more people in the Jeep community.”
Omix-ADA’s own private Jeep collection, which includes 30 rare Jeeps and Willys vehicles ranging from very early 1941 prototypes to the latest Wranglers, was also on display to the public. Highlights of the collection include an original 1941 Willys MA—less than 50 remain worldwide and only eight are thought to be in the U.S.
For this year’s event, Omix-ADA partnered with Habitat for Humanity in order raise money to support the local Atlanta community. All of the proceeds from the Jeep Heritage Expo were donated to the organization, totaling $3,800 in one day. Omix-ADA raises money for the charity at multiple events every year.
Hundreds of Jeep owners travelled to the Jeep Heritage Expo to showcase their personal Jeeps, purchase parts from on-site vendors and get an up-close and personal look at Omix-ADA’s private Jeep collection. The Expo also provided Jeep enthusiasts with the opportunity to get an inside look of Omix-ADA’s 230,000-square-foot development and distribution facility, which houses over 20,000 parts.
Omix-ADA will celebrate its 25th anniversary in business later this year. The company’s brands include its namesake, Rugged Ridge and Alloy USA.
