Mid America Motorworks Asks Enthusiasts to Help Assemble Corvette Time Capsule

Aug 6, 2012

Mid America Motorworks has announced that in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Corvette, it will be assembling a time capsule of Corvette memorabilia and artifacts.

Once sealed, the time capsule will not be opened again until 2053, the 100th anniversary of the Corvette.

The company is asking fellow Corvette enthusiasts and collectors to help with the collection of items to be included in the time capsule.

“In order to find the most unique memorabilia, we are seeking the help of sports car enthusiasts, hobbyists and brand loyalists,” the company said in a recent press release. “Items to be included in the time capsule range from key chains to artifacts, model cars to owner’s manuals, posters to vintage brochures, pictures with Corvettes, and predictions or renderings of what Corvettes will look like in the future.”

Items selected to be placed in the time capsule will be announced the last week of August.

The sealing of the time capsule will take place during the company’s annual Corvette Funfest, which will be held Sept. 13-16 at Mid America Motorworks’ headquarters in Effingham, Illinois.

Those wishing to submit an item for the time capsule should e-mail timecapsule@mamotorworks.com. The e-mail should include your name, contact information, and images and a brief description of the item being submitted, including its dimensions.
