Jan 21, 2012

The D3 Group, Signal Hill, Calif., in conjunction with General Motors, have launched a Special Edition 2012 CTS-V Coupe.

The purpose-built vehicle is designed to bridge the gap between Cadillac’s racing efforts and the cars consumers can purchase off the showroom floor, according to a press release. Initially referred to as PROJECT WHITE, the car was unveiled at the 2011 SEMA Show as “The Legionnaire.”

The focus of this special vehicle is to use alternative fuels in a competitive setting without compromising overall vehicle performance. The vehicle utilizes all of the latest performance advancements from D3 in terms of thermal efficiency, suspension/chassis, aero, and powertrain while still making well in excess of 800 hp and 800 foot-pounds of torque.

Vehicles will come equipped with DOT R Compound Toyo R888 tires, lightweight Recaro seats, D3 aerodynamics and ground effects.

The D3 Cadillac Tuning Program says it’s “the world’s only full-line tuning program for Cadillac,” and encompasses power kits, competition track-ready suspension kits and functional competition aerodynamic components.
