Karlsson Holden8r

Nov 2, 2012

Bernt Karlsson’s custom Holden8r was unveiled by RK Sport at the 2012 SEMA Show.

The Holden8r was created by Karlsson, the powerhouse metal man formerly at Hot Rods by Boyd and currently at The 401K Club Hot Rod Shop, as a follow-up to his Camaro/Camino concept.

The bodywork done by Karlsson included grafting a Holden Ute with a blend of Pontiac G8 and 2013 Camaro. The fenders are a mix of Pontiac G8 near the firewall, rare Holden Maloo in the lower parts and 2012 Camaro at the front.

The grill insert is also from the Camaro with a custom-made carbon fiber accent bar covering the headlight from end to end in an elongated V shape. The front spoiler and valance, rocker panels and tonneau cover lip are also custom fabricated from carbon fiber. The roll pan is fabricated around a set of custom exhaust tips and the skin is coated in a decisive and special mix two-tone of Valspar’s House of Kolor pigments, the release stated.

The RK Sport ZR1 Hood’s Plexiglass center shows off the Pontiac G8 GT 6.0L V8 engine with a polished Magnuson Supercharger rating at 500 hp and cat-back Magnaflow exhaust system. The Holden8r also features Harrop Brakes, Schott Wheels and Toyo Tires.

Finally, the interior features Stitchcraft upholstery and Crossfire Audio system.

Sponsors of the Holden8R include Magnuson Supercharger, RK Sport, Magnaflow Exhaust, Optima Battery and Charger, Valspar’s House of Kolor, Toyo Tires and Crossfire Audio.
