The first Winfield Award-presented by master customizer and designer Gene Winfield in recognition of automotive excellence-will be presented during the 2010 Syracuse Nationals, July 16-18.
From the entries, Winfield will choose six vehicles, known as the Select Six, and the vehicles will be prominently displayed inside one of the main buildings at the nationals. Entrants for the Winfield Award are required to provide a list of enhancements, and all vehicles must have one radical modification (e.g. chopped, sectioned and/or channeled).
Submissions for the award are due by April 1. Winfield will conduct the final judging at the show, and the winner will be announced on Saturday, July 17. The winner will receive a one-of-a-kind award, personalized commemorative jacket and $5,000.
