Positive reviews on sites like Yelp can help bring customers into your shop and negative reviews can give those same potential customers second thoughts about doing business with you. What can you do if negative reviews of your shop show up online?

“Fortunately, there are a number of ways that small-business owners can minimize the influence of negative reviews and encourage satisfied customers to join the digital conversation,” Turner wrote.

2. Join the conversation
3. Highlight the positive
4. Encourage positive reviews
5. Develop a strategy for responding to threats
6. Familiarize yourself with the culture of online review sites
