Three pioneer drag racers, a famed track announcer and beloved track official are among those named honorees for the 11th annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA Insurance, June 13-15 at the Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
According to the NHRA Motorsports Museum, this year’s honorees are: Alan Bockla, a drag racer with back-to-back West Central Division Top Fuel titles; Lynwood Dupuy, a respected track official; Melvin Heath, the first drag racer to win two NHRA Regional championships in a single season; Jon Lundberg, a well-known announcer nicknamed the “Voice of Drag Racing” and Tom Prock, a drag racing veteran.
The grand marshal will be Preston Davis, the popular Tennessee Bo Weevil driver and considered one of the Southeast’s best fuel racers from the 1960s and ’70s.
The honorees will be recognized June 14 at a reception in the Holiday Inn and Convention Center, the host hotel for the event.
