Before I recently became the staff writer for Performance Business, I was very much a stranger to the automotive industry. The owner of a 2008 Honda CR-V with no special features, I felt like an imposter on the editorial team.
I am a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder with degrees in psychology and news-editorial journalism. Working with local community publications in Colorado steered me to write about a series of very diverse topics.
I have covered everything from the deficiency of Asian-American leadership in corporate America to the growth of the frozen yogurt industry in the Denver metro area. However, I had never written a word about automobiles, and without this position, I would have never realized how much I’d been missing out.
As I continually familiarize myself with the performance and racing industries, I have finally been able to grasp what it’s all about—the passionate builders, the dedicated enthusiasts, and of course the amazing vehicles.
I never thought I was a closeted car gal, but I fear that in a few months, I might look into trading in my plain Jane vehicle for something bolder, sleeker and faster.
But my point is that it really is the people in this amazing industry that shape the content of Performance Business and what we write. You are my best source for learning what’s happening in this great industry!
