Two engine-building competitions, the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge and the COMP Cams Builders Duel presented by Snap-on, will be contested at select Goodguys events this season.
The Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge features four to six teams of high school students competing against one another to tear down and rebuild a small-block V-8 engine to win trophies and scholarships.
The competition will take place at the Goodguys 20th Summer Get-Together presented by Specialty Sales Classics, June 1-2 at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds, according to a Goodguys news release.
A hit at the SEMA Show last fall, the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge travels the country annually staging competitions and is looking to add as many as three to four more Goodguys events in 2014.
During the COMP Cams Builders Duel presented by Snap-on, two-man teams compete to assemble and crank a small-block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time to win COMP Cams gift certificates.
The competition will take place at the Goodguys 16th PPG Nationals, July 12-14 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio, and at the Goodguys 21st Lone Star Nationals, Oct. 4-6 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
