Enduratex to Host Live Cut-and-Sew Demo at HRR Trade Show

Mar 10, 2011

Enduratex has announced that it has invited Ace Eckleberry of ACE Custom Upholstery to do a live cut-and-sew demonstration inside its booth at the upcoming HRR Trade Show.

Eckleberry will be using Enduratex’s newest products OSSIE and Gran Reserva to cover a set of seats, as well as do a small sculpting display.

OSSIE is a faux-leather product with an ostrich-inspired exotic skin pattern, according to Enduratex.

Gran Reserva is another faux-leather product that features a soft hand and subtle grain, as well as a microfiber backing.

Both products are designed for use on high-end applications.

“Gran Reserva looks and feels like leather and is a much more cost-effective product to use when you want to get a high-end look for a job,” said Eckleberry. “It’s a good product.”

The cut and sew demo will be taking place on both Friday and Saturday of the show in booth No. 821.

Eckleberry said that since it takes well over eight hours to complete a seat restoration, he plans to complete some of the job back in his shop in Fairfield, Illinois, before the show.

“I’m going to show pieces of every step but it won’t be the whole process,” he said. “I’ll have as much prepared before the show as possible so that I’ll have time to answer questions and interact with attendees.”

He said he will likely be covering seats from a 1932 Ford roadster with the Gran Reserva material during the demo. He also plans to show attendees how to do a sculpting display, such as how to put a flame on a door panel, if time permits.

The 2011 show marks the first time Enduratex will exhibit at the HRR Trade Show. Eckleberry, who attended last year’s show, said he’s excited to return this year.

“As far as the trade shows go, I look forward to the time spent networking with the customers that I don’t get to see on a regular business,” he said.

To watch the live cut-and-sew display, go to Enduratex’s booth (No. 821) on the HRR Trade Show floor.
