Callaway Cars, Old Lyme, Conn., presents its new Callaway SportTruck SC450, SC490 and SC540 models, based on the 2011 Silverado 1500 and 2500HD, Avalanche, Suburban and Tahoe.
The trucks join the Callaway lineup that includes the Callaway Corvette SC606 and Z06-based SC652, and Callaway Camaro SC552 and SC572 coupes and convertibles.
Callaway SportTrucks may be equipped with two-wheel or four-wheel drive, with any Chevrolet equipment group (WT, LS, LT and LTZ), any cab style (regular, extended and crew) and any bed length (short, standard and long), according to a press release.
SportTruck SC450s are equipped with 5.3-liter engines and are rated at 450 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 450 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 6.0-liter-equipped SC490s produce 490 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 496 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 6.2L SC540s generate 540 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 522 foot-pounds of torque at 3,800 rpm.
Callaway engineers were able to attain increased power levels with virtually no reduction in fuel mileage, maintaining drivability and 50-state emissions compliance, according to the release.
Callaway SportTruck standard equipment includes: a Roots-style Eaton TVS (Twin Vortices Series) supercharger, liquid-to-air intercooler integral with intake manifold, carbon fiber injector covers, increased flow fuel injectors, high-flow intake system, low-restriction exhaust system, Callaway badging, embroidered headrests and floor mats and more.
Popular options include ChromeCoat supercharger finish, Callaway nine-spoke alloy wheels, SportTruck suspension system, Le Mans GT brake system, SportTruck interior group and more.
SportTrucks are prepared exclusively at Callaway’s Old Lyme, Santa Ana, Calif., and Leingarten, Germany, facilities. Callaway cars and trucks are sold and serviced by a network of 26 authorized Chevrolet dealers across North America.
MSRP for the Callaway SportTruck packages is $15,995, according to the release. Production time is approximately two weeks from vehicle arrival at Callaway factories.
