Borgeson has announced that it’s now the OEM manufacturer and re-manufacturer of Saginaw manual steering gears.
The company recently purchased all of the original equipment, tooling, drawings and OEM manufacturing rights for the steering gear boxes from BSB Automotive Technologies of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada.
The Saginaw manual steering gear product line was divested by GM to Invar Manufacturing Ltd. during the 1980s due to tapering demand.
The company was then sold to Techmotiv Manufacturing and later acquired by BSB.
“Borgeson Universal Co. is proud to carry forward the American heritage of Saginaw manual steering by manufacturing and supporting the line of Saginaw manual steering in the USA,” the company said in a recent press release. “Borgeson will apply its same standards of manufacturing excellence to the Saginaw manual steering line as it does its current line of quality steering components.”
